Sweet News – Happy Anniversary to Rebecca and Greg

October 21, 2010

Rebecca and Greg chose to take a gift certificate rather than save the top tier of their cake for a year.  Smart!  They enjoyed a lovely reception last year at the Frazier International History Museum.

This year for their first anniversary, they chose a Strawberry Cake with Vanilla Buttercreme.

Sweet News – Congratulations to JoBeth and John

October 20, 2010

Congratulations to Jobeth and John on their recent wedding.  The reception was at the Louisville Slugger Museum.  Amazingly, after eleven years of making wedding cakes it was our first time setting up at Slugger.  We hope to go back, because it’s a beautiful room!  The patina on the old wooden floor, the exposed brick walls and the big sunny windows all in the bustling downtown Museum District made for a gorgeous setting.

Guests chose from Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Mint Buttercreme Filling (think a cake version of a Thin Mint Cookie), White Cake and Vanilla Buttercreme Filling and Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Creme Filling.  yummo!

Thanks for letting Louisville Wedding Cake create your one-of-a-kind cake!

Sweet News – Congratulations and Welcome to Brittany and Dave

October 18, 2010

Congratulations to Brittany and Dave on their upcoming wedding!  It’s at Glassworks where Louisville Wedding Cake is a Preferred Vendor.  Brittany and Dave chose a design taken from her wedding gown for the cake which will also be accented with fresh flowers.  It’s gonna be beautiful!  Sorry Dave, no sketches for you.

Sweet News – Congratulations and Welcome to Jan and George

October 15, 2010

Jan and George are planning a casual affair at one of our lovely bed and breakfasts.  Nothing stuffy here!  Family and close friends will enjoy a candlelit historic home flanked by snowcovered fields (I’m assuming, since it will be winter.)

Sweet News – Congratulations to Nicki and Chris

October 14, 2010

Congratulations to Nicki and Chris on their recent wedding.  It was our first time setting up at Gingerwoods.  What a hidden gem!  Old hardwood floors worn to a patina housed in an old church in a tranquil country setting surrounded by horses playing in the fields.  What could possibly be more charming?

Nicki and Chris chose Watermelon Pink and Canary Yellow for their colors, and weren’t afraid to use them!  (Bright colors always make me smile.)  And I heard from a guest at the wedding that all of the cake was gobbled up!  And by gobbled up I mean “enjoyed by all.”

Chris’ Groom’s Cake, a replica of the a UK Basketball court was served at the Rehearsal Dinner.  It’s completely appropriate to serve the Groom’s Cake then, in part because the Groom’s family is the host of the Dinner.  It’s their time to plan a party!  Dinner guests enjoyed Tuxedo Cake with Vanilla Buttercreme and Crushed Oreo filing.  mmmmmmm

Reception guests chose from Princess Cake with Bavarian Creme Filling, Strawberry Cake with Strawberry Creme and Chocolate Buttercreme Filling, Lemon Cake with Strawberry Creme Filling and Banana Cake with Bavarian Creme Filling.
